Karen Sosnoski has written a very true, funny and raw account of our time with David , as he underwent brain surgery. Karen also did the piece on NPR. Her story really captures a challenging project for both of us and the ambiguities associated with turning the harsh realities of life into art.

Torpedo Factory artist, Covey travels to Blacksburg for “Internal Medicine: Rosemary Feit Covey” at Perspective Gallery, Virginia Tech, which runs from October 13 – November 14, 2009. She brings her emotionally charged wood engravings, in honor of Tech Alumni, David Welch whose brave struggle with Brain Cancer is documented in her work. These pieces are exhibited alongside other images which are inspired by both Pain and Healing.

Reality Confront End

Reality Confront End was a combination of works by Rosmary Feit Covey and contemporary dance-theatre performance by BosmaDance that produced a powerful multi-disciplinary project that explored the recurring nature of loss and healing throughout life.

It was a partner piece to Eternal Return and was shown from April 29 through June 27, 2009 at the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery

Eternal Return explores the recurring nature of loss throughout human life. It is the result of the collaborative effort between Rosemary Feit Covey, BosmaDance and the Smith Farm Cancer Center for Healing and the Arts that uses projected images, music, dance, and visual art.

House of Cards

House of Cards is a female duet inspired by the wood engravings of artist Rosemary Feit Covey. Performed by dancers Alice Wylie and Francesca Jandasek, the work is a delicate balancing act between two women attempting to stand up straight with one another. Maintaining a sensual and physical connection, two pairs of legs and arms intertwine as one; spikes of a skirt get in the way; uncertainty builds tension. House of Cards is a provoking look at how we balance in relationships and with ourselves. Presented by Bosma Dance.
